Patients and caregivers have the right to:

  • Receive services without discrimination, regardless of age, race, gender, disability, religion, or payment source
  • Receive clear and understandable information regarding equipment, services, and supplier responsibilities
  • Receive instruction on the safe and proper use of equipment, consistent with manufacturer guidelines
  • Be informed when equipment may not be covered by insurance or payer programs
  • Privacy and confidentiality of personal and health information, in accordance with HIPAA and applicable laws
  • Voice concerns or complaints regarding services without fear of retaliation
  • Be informed of their rights and responsibilities as a recipient of home medical equipment services

Patient Responsibilities

Patients and caregivers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information necessary for equipment coordination and documentation

  • Using equipment as instructed by the supplier and ordering provider

  • Maintaining equipment in reasonable condition, including basic care and cleanliness

  • Promptly reporting equipment issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns

  • Notifying Kinxo of changes in address, insurance coverage, or ordering provider

  • Returning rental equipment when it is no longer medically necessary or ordered
